Natural cable ties are made of Type 66 nylon. Type 66 nylon is resistant to automotive oils, detergents and alkalies. It is affected by solvents, strong acids and some salts. Alcohols may plasticize the nylon. Nylon is affected by variations in moisture levels so it is best to store in a sealed bag. In very dry conditions, adding a few drops of water to the bag can rehydrate the ties.

Cable ties are suitable for use in a working temperature range of –40F to 185F. It meets UL94V flammability rating. Dielectric Strength is 463volts/mil.
